North Gower/Kars Discovery Tour

Stop_8Stop_8 North Gower/Kars Discovery Tour!

I am thrilled and honoured to be a part of this year’s Discovery Tour. Mary Lou Devine, of Simply Devine Paverpol   invited me to join her as a guest artist along with seven other very talented Artists at Stop 8.

Mary Lou Devine and several previous years’ favourite artists and artisans will continue to amaze with their beautiful work.  I am one of five new artists that will be making my debut at this year's Tour—I hope that you will come out, meet us and see our work.   I will have a few pieces from three of my collections: “Camargue Collection”, “Spirit of the West Collection”, and a few pieces from my “Sable Island Wild Horses Collection” from a recent trip to Sable Island this past June.

Visitors will be treated to a boutique style venue at Stop 8  and be introduced to some of the best local artistic talent.

This year the tour has more than 30 participants at 14 stops all within an 8 km radius of North Gower, just 30 minutes southwest of downtown Ottawa.  Hours are 10 to 5 and admission is free.

DT_MAP_BLOGDT_MAP_BLOG The self-guided map suggests routes that art buyers and collectors alike can follow to discover while immersing themselves in the country’s cultural and creative richness.

Along the way are many  visual artists in all media; potters with very different styles, materials and techniques; nature photographers; jewelry makers; blown and stained glass makers, a fabric sculptor and textile artists.  There are stops with many artists/artisans and stops with only one or two.  All are worth visiting as you never know what jewel you might find at any one of them.
